Having come from a family of musicians, music was ingrained in me before birth. At a young age, I began private music lessons in violin, piano, and trumpet. In addition, various ensemble opportunities in orchestra, band and choir helped deepen my musical skills. I received my B.S. in Music Education in 2008 from Bob Jones University. In 2009, I had the opportunity to travel the U.S. and abroad on a music team where I strengthened my skills in performing, improvisation, and arranging. From 2012-2014, I gained further training and a M.M. degree in violin performance from Wayne State University while continuing to teach and perform simultaneously in the Metro Detroit area. My main passion lies in creating and teaching. Being a committed life-long learner, I strive to bring whatever fresh new ideas and skills I am learning to my students. My most current passion project has been the creation of a mobile app called Met-TREE-nome! It has been an incredible journey creating this interactive, educational tool for young musicians all over the world. My other passions can be found in spending quality time with my family and friends, along with traveling and learning about the beauty of other cultures.
